Full Stack pays better…
… and it’s growing a lot faster.
Most professional mobile developers specialize in either iOS or Android, and rely on more limited Backend-as-a-Service tools (Parse, Firebase) instead of building their own APIs.
Full stack developers, on the other hand, are trained to:
- build APIs
- build mobile responsive web apps
- build native web apps using tools like Cordova and React Native, which can run on iOS, Android, and even Windows and Blackberry phones.
It’s certainly true that you get better performance from native Android or Objective-C code.
The question is, how long will that performance gain matter enough to hire a specialist in said language, when you can hire a full stack developer to be able to write one app for all platforms?
